An update

  • I am looking super pregnant. Like, I tell people we are moving in two weeks and they ask me when I am due like I might pop in the next two weeks. Not so fun to tell people I still have 3 full months left. Love being as a big as a house!
  • Our new house should be done this week and we are hoping to close on our mortgage next week! It has been a long six months looking for houses, deciding to build, waiting, mortgage etc. We are SO excited for our new house.
  • Our rental house has so many special problems it is almost funny. The central heat doesn't work so we are living off two space heaters. Half the plumbing and electrical doesn't work. Showers and sinks don't drain, the disposal doesn't work and random outlets don't work. There is also no lights in like half the rooms that really should have lights. Our roof also started leaking during a torrential downpour last week.  To complicate issues further the realtor who agreed to let us live here passed away last month and no one really knew why we were here or what we had agreed on etc. It has been a very interesting experience.
  • I will be so grateful for the tiniest things in our new house that work. Lights, plumbing, a heater, a garage, towel racks and toilet paper holders in the bathroom.....I could go on and on! The things you don't know you need to be grateful for until you don't have them anymore.
  • Lily is in two different preschools and a gymnastics class. I put her in a preschool twice a week and then she qualified for some developmental preschool stuff so she is also in a preschool where she gets occupational and speech therapy twice a week. It is a lot and she struggles going to school almost everyday but both preschools are good for her in different ways. She also loves gymnastics and is very good at it.
  • Ella has never gone to nursery without us. When we moved here she was barely 18 months and then we got put in nursery so we were in there with her every week. So, the last two weeks are the first time she has been to nursery without me. The first week she sat in a corner and said no to the nursery leaders for 90 minutes and then fell asleep. Then last week I stayed in there for almost an hour, left her and then she fell asleep again like 10 minutes later.
  • It doesn't feel very much like Christmas because we haven't decorated hardly at all because we are moving into our new house next week. Every time Lily sees a Christmas tree all decorated anywhere she gets super duper excited. I am just hoping we close next week so we can get in our new house and have it feel like Christmas!
  • I am very much looking forward to being in a brand new house, feeling settled, and knowing we are happy here and are going to be here for a while. We have moved a lot in our marriage. This is round #8 and we have been married just over 7 years. We have lived in 4 different states, 7 cities. It is just exhausting and I just want to be settled for a while.

Ashland Light Festival

Ella Grace turns 2!

I made Birthday Cupcakes in the shape of a 2. Our friends came over to wish her Happy Birthday and their 5 year old asked to see the cake. I showed her these cupcakes and then she looked at me again and asked....but where is the cake. I guess to a 5 year old this does not constitute a birthday cake.

 Opening her presents.

 Our family self-portrait picture!
Mom! You took me away from my tea set to take a picture of me in my pajamas. Are you insane?

I can't believe she is 2. She definitely has read the book on how to act 2 though. She is a professional!

Before church photoshoot.

Halloween Festivities

 Decorating our lovely pumpkins
I bought a decorating kit instead of carving. The girls thought it was awesome and a lot less work on our part!

 Super Girl ready for take-off!

Lily's face in this picture is very scary and Ella has her awesome excited face!

Examining our loot when we got home!
Halloween was very fun. The girls loved trick-or-treating. Ella would run up say "Pees" and then say Tank-To and run off. So stinkin adorable.

Pumpkin Patch

Here I am....way behind again! Here are some pics from our Halloween adventures at the Pumpkin Patch!
Lily riding a pony. She loved it and went twice. Ella started screaming when she got within 5 feet of one.

They had these cool tractor-swings made out of tires. The girls could have spent all day on there!

This is my new favorite picture! I love Ella's face in this one!
