New Babies

My sister Julie just had her 4th child...a baby girl. She has three little boys and was SUPER excited for a girl. She was told her first was a girl and so his birth was a big surprise, so she is excited for a little girl. This makes 13 grandkids in my family....8 girls and 5 boys....I guess we all knew coming from my family of 6 girls and 1 boy that girls would always rule. Go to dreamingofbeaches.blogspot.com to see the new little lady!
I miss my own little newborn!

Lily is taking about 4 steps at a time before she gets excited and falls down. She is a funny little lady!

We are just enjoying a lazy Saturday at home. I went out and wondered why I did because it is SUPER hot...and will only get worse. I need to find projects to keep me and Lily entertained at home this summer so we don't have to go out in the HEAT!

Updates

So, I haven't dropped any bricks. I only jumped once on the floor in anger at 3am when they scared my daughter for the 5TH TIME! Really, I was proud of my restraint.

Lily is almost walking. She can stand on her own for a second and tries to take steps. She is up to and into everything. It is fun to watch her explore and learn new tricks. She claps and is very proud of herself when she transfers good when walking around holding onto things. She is almost nine months. She has reverted to bad sleeping habits. We were up from 11:00pm to 2:00am this morning, but all in all she is doing well. This past week or so I kept trying to put her back to sleep if she woke up and spent 3 hours doing that, with her falling asleep, screaming, etc. So, I decided to just be up with her until she is ready to go back to sleep. I decided that is a better alternative for now....a tiring one, but I was tired before and don't have to struggle with her for 3 hours.

Rob is almost done with his rotation and then has classes over the summer before we move to Utah for our last rotation with HOPEFULLY a job afterwards! Good thoughts our way PLEASE!

I am at home doing the at home thing. Playing with my goober, diaper changing, laundry, cooking, cleaning, diaper changing, cleaning, saving money, etc. I am grateful I am able to do this and be home with my goober. I know some don't have that opportunity and I am so grateful I get to be home. I would go crazy if I had to leave her.

Who wouldn't LOVE to spend all day with this little face?

Help me find my Christian SELF!

So, I need some help finding my Christian self this morning....let me explain!

Last night, Lily had a rough night sleeping. She was a little restless and woke up around 2:15. I went and got her, rocked her, fed her...you know...did the mommy thing. I laid her back in her crib around 2:30 and she was still awake....crying a little, rolling around, trying to fall asleep---all totally normal for her. I still kind of hear her, but she is settling down and I am laying on the couch waiting for her to fall asleep.
All of a sudden I hear these huge THUD noises...I am concerned it is her hitting her head against the wall or something. It is not...but what is it? Lily starts to hear it, gets concerned and starts freaking out again....so I pick her up, she stops crying and the thudding stops? JIGGAWHAT?
So, I rock her again, get her to calm down, set her down...she starts crying a little bit again, and the thudding starts again! What is going on?
I figure out the lovely people who live beneath us are hitting their ceiling right below Lily's crib with something (a broom?) and making a large thudding noise that is scaring Lily making her cry more and shaking the wall.
Anyway, after being up for an hour last night Lily finally fell asleep and stayed asleep, but this morning I want to find a heavy brick and drop it repeatedly on my floor!
Their "complaining" (hitting the ceiling) made the crying worse, and scared my child. These same LOVELY people complained to the office about me running my dishwasher before 8am....um, it is my right as a human being to run a quiet humming machine anytime I want! Seriously, that is your complaint? They have a 3 year old who screams obscenities at the top of his lungs around the clock and they are going to hit the ceiling when my baby is restless and crying (not even loudly!)!
So, where do I find my Christian self this morning? Because right now....I want to do jumping jacks and drop bricks on my floor all day and all night long!
