A lot can change....

So, every once in a blue moon I look for jobs for Rob just to see if I find anything great....closer to family, hand clinic etc. Sometimes I find good stuff but we have never acted on it before. One Sunday I found this job in Tri-Cities area Washington and I talked to Rob about it. It would be closer to family...doing only hands which is what he wants, etc. We talked for hours and then decided....well, it doesn't hurt to apply and see what happens. After we applied for that job we just searched a few other Occupational Therapy job websites and found another one in the Seattle area and one in Oregon. We thought that if we were going to apply for one...might as well apply for a couple at the same time.
Within hours of applying for the job in Oregon we got an e-mail back. The next day a phone....within a week and a half they wanted to do an on-site interview. Two days after he got back a job offer...the next day we accept and give our 30 days notice. We would be moving to Oregon in a month. That was 2.5 weeks ago and now Rob only has a week and a half of work left here in Carlsbad. Then we are going to finish packing and then be on our way to Oregon the next week.

It is amazing how much your life can change in such a short amount of time.

We are excited for this move. It is a bit stressful....selling our house (a whole soap opera movie could be written about all that has happened in that arena so far), coordinating our move, trying to figure out where to live when we get there, etc.

Medford has all the things on our wish list.....bigger city, cooler climate, real stores, a temple, better healthcare and closer to family. Granted it is not CLOSE....but closer which is a huge bonus. And, the job is exactly what Rob wants to be doing in his career to become a Certified Hand Therapist.

So from first thought of applying for a few jobs to moving 1600 miles away was only like 6 or 7 weeks. A log can change....in a very short amount of time!
