Happy's of the Day

  1. It is Saturday!
  2. Lily is walking around like a crazy person! She is super cute!
  3. It is almost July....which means we are closer to getting out of this wretched heat!
  4. I just had a homemade taco for dinner and it was delicious. I am full and content.
  5. I have worked out everyday this week for at least 45 minutes!
  6. My husband cleaned and packed some stuff while I was gone today! Yippee!
  7. I got to hang out with my two friends from working at ASU today.
  8. Lily is 10 months old today! She has been out of the cooker longer than she was in! We have survived this far...how much harder can it get? Just kidding!
  9. I got my hair cut on a whim this week because it was driving me nuts and it actually didn't turn out too bad.
  10. After hanging out with my friends from work, I am glad I am no longer working there...or anywhere! I love staying home with my little lady!

One more thing!

One more thing to mention. I have mentioned it before but it has never really stuck before...but, finally! Lily is sleeping about 11-12 hours at night straight! MIRACLE! She has slept somewhat through the night before and it never lasted for more than 2 or 3 days! It took us 9.5 months to get here....but hallelujah!

What is up?

So, here is what is up with us!

About two or so weeks ago Rob and I woke up and decided that maybe we weren't supposed to go to Utah. We both got that feeling and so we figured it must have meant something. We both prayed and pondered all day and we both felt like we weren't supposed to go to Utah...so what we were supposed to do?
Well, we are almost positive we are moving to Cottonwood, Arizona (it is about 1.5 hours north of where we are right now) in August for a rotation. It is a great opportunity for a rotation and will really help Rob because it is for hand therapy which is what he ultimately wants to specialize in. And, after that we have both gotten the feeling we are supposed to move to Colorado....so that is where we are headed as of right now. There are a lot of job opportunities in the Colorado Springs area so that is going to be our first choice. Hopefully that will work out!

It is amazing how the Lord can speak to you. We both had a feeling about Colorado before, but we made an emotional decision about moving to Utah that ultimately isn't the right thing for us. So, the Lord reminded us of our earlier prompting and hopefully we will be able to get a job there in November.

We are sad to not be closer to family, but we definitely feel like we are on the right path. We have grown so much being here in AZ on our own. It has been a good experience for both of us. It is hard for me since all of my siblings are within 3 hours of each other except for us....but I sort of feel like this is one of my trials and how much I can learn from that. I also think it is fun when my family comes down to visit us! So, hopefully my family will want to visit us in Colorado too!

Happy Birthday Rob!

It is my wonderful husband's birthday today! He is 29.....one year away from the BIG one! Just kidding!
Rob is a wonderful husband and father and takes great care of us!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Lessons learned on our trip

  1. Always try to schedule driving on trips around Lily's naps.
  2. We are probably moving to Cottonwood for Rob's rotation in August.
  3. Someday I want to buy a really nice bed like the one they had at our hotel.
  4. Lily is capable of sleeping through the night...even in a hotel!
  5. Lily does not like riding ski lifts.
  6. Wear sunscreen on ski lifts....even if it is only 65 degrees outside!
  7. Lily does not like riding ski lifts.
  8. Mormon Lake Lodge has a very deceiving name...only people there were people drinking at the saloon and a HUGE group of Knights role playing?....very weird!
  9. Lily does not like camping.
  10. Lily does not like it when she can't get down and eat the dirt.
  11. Lily does not like being confined to a tent.
  12. Lily is not capable of sleeping at all in a tent.
  13. Lily does not like camping.
  14. Camping makes everyone and everything stink!
  15. Next time....no camping....only hotels with nice beds!

Birthday and the Zoo!

It was my Birthday this week! The big 24! It was a very good day. Rob's last day of his rotation was on the 4th, so we got to spend all day together. We went and got Jamba's with a gift card Rob got from his supervisor at work and as you can see Lily enjoyed it!
Then we went to TGI Fridays for dinner. It was delicious! Then Rob got me a Coconut Cream Pie for dessert. On Saturday morning we went to the zoo with our friends Jason and Chelsa! It was fun...hot, but fun!

When my sister Julie came last September we went to the zoo with them. That morning my sister thought she was pregnant so they stopped and bought a pregnancy test on our way to the zoo and she took the pregnancy test that was positive at this bathroom! I had to get a picture because I thought it was hilarious she took the test at the zoo! Lo, and behold that little lady arrived about a week ago!

Growing Up

Lily is 9 months old and I love seeing her little personality grow. She will chase you and loves to be chased. If I am standing up she crawls to me and grabs my leg until I pick her up. She always wants to know what is going on. She takes about 4-5 steps at a time. She doesn't like to be confined in anything....high-chairs, car-seats, grocery carts, strollers. It makes for a FUN time to go anywhere or try and feed her anything!

Rob is done with his rotation. He has class this summer and then his final rotation in the fall. I am SO proud of him and all he has accomplished!

My b-day is tomorrow....growing up, getting older! (Don't feel the need to wish me a happy birthday---that is not why I am mentioning my birthday!) Good times. It is so interesting to me to see where all my high school friends are now. Some have 2 kids...some are still single. I am grateful for where I am in my own life with a wonderful husband and a cutie patootie little girl! I am just grateful for where my life is right now...although I could take a colder climate!
