7 Random Things

7 Random Things About Me

1. I usually put on my pajamas/sweats around 6 or 7 at night----anytime after that I just don't want to have normal pants on anymore.
2. I still like Care Bears....I have a lot of them---when we have a real nursery I am hoping to do it in Care Bear style!
3. I am getting gray hairs---quite a significant amount---at age 23---that is right. I have a lot of years of getting my hair dyed in front of me.
4. I have never had a pet....and I don't have any real desire to change that anytime soon.
5. When people call me anything but my name----i.e., Shanna, Shannon, Sheri, anything that starts with a sh-----I get REALLY annoyed. My name is Sharon. (Side note---one time in college, a guy repeatedly called me Shannon and I always got really mad. One day he was like "What is the big deal?" Um, hello that is not my name. So, his name was Nathan----I started calling him Bill and then asked him "What is the big deal?" It was funny!)
6. I miss having real tv---I loved watching the Food Network.
7. I can't wait to move back closer to my family!

If you feel the need to tell 7 Random Things about yourself...knock yourself out!

Some pet peeves

#1
So, Fall is a season if I am not mistaken.....but apparently it only happens in certain places-----and Phoenix Arizona is not one of them! It is still in the 90's! That is right---it was like 94 today. I have yet to need a jacket here and it is almost NOVEMBER! I miss having seasons.....I like having the weather change. I also like wearing jackets....it is fun to me! Anyway, maybe by December I will need a light jacket.

#2
Random people criticizing me when I swaddle Lily up. "Does she like that?" "Why are you doing that?" "It looks like you are hurting her." ETC, ETC, ETC. The only way the kid will sleep is if she is swaddled! She likes it. We are not purposely trying to torture our kid----and why do people feel the need to comment about it anyway?

Okay, I think that is all. Here are some cute pics of the goob.

Her first time in the crib....she didn't sleep there, but we thought we would let her try it out!

She fell asleep while in the bathtub. She was pretty mad when I took her out!Her she is kicking it in the bumbo...she doesn't love it yet....but she will!

Here is a video of the goob excited!

Continuation to Sharon's BYU-Idaho Romance

Just a little note from Rob. He never ever was a player, a flirt maybe, but definitely not a player

Sincerely,
Rob

Once Upon A BYU-Idaho Romance

Once upon a time, at BYU-Idaho, at the complex GreenBriar there lived a prince named Rob and a girl named Sharon.

One day Rob told Sharon's roommate Lara that he was going to come over and ask Sharon out. So, on the appointed day, Lara came into Sharon's room at like 10pm and told her not to go to bed yet...that a young gentleman caller was coming over. Sharon said "whatever" and stayed awake...but kept her cozy pajamas on (might as well let the gentleman caller see the REAL girl....no false pretenses here!). Sharon had just had a quasi-relationship end and so wasn't too worried about meeting the "ONE" if you know what I mean. Rob ended up coming over and still ended up asking Sharon out for a week or so in advance, even though she was wearing pajamas.....ahhhhh.

In the meantime, Rob asked Sharon to go to a Haunted House with "a big group of people"....a few days before Halloween and above mentioned DATE. She of course agreed, being the agreeable creature that she is. On the night of this event, it turned out there was only Rob, her and 2 other people....and she was the only one with a car...so she had to drive (gotta love college). When they arrived Rob insisted on paying for her...like they were on a date....which made it extremely awkward for the premie and the late 20-something girl that agreed to go with a "big group of people".

Rob and Sharon went through the house on their own and at one point it was so "SCARY" that Rob grabbed Sharon's hand, and then didn't let go. Sharon did not know quite what to think of that since Rob was a pretty big player and had lots of "friends" that were girls. Sharon held on until the other 2 people came out behind them and then she dropped above mentioned hand....she didn't know what else to do, since technically they weren't even on a "date".

Now what happened between above mentioned incident and their "date" is a little fuzzy...but on the date, Rob acted like they were an "item". An item = holding hands, touching her back, etc.

Now, they started hanging out a lot, holding hands, etc. and were an item. One day he even agreed to go to Idaho Falls and have dinner with Sharon's family (mom and dad and two siblings and their families). He was a slow mover....so it took a while to progress beyond holding hands to the next level.

It took two EXTREMELY long walks around Rexburg---one to get a kiss and one for Rob to tell Sharon that he loved her. During the "love" walk he was talking in circles so much Sharon was convinced he was taking her on a walk to tell her that he DIDN'T love her, and she was ready to say no big deal...catch ya later. She couldn't figure out why he would take her on a REALLY long walk to tell her that, but it ended up being the opposite, but not before Sharon got pretty frustrated. So by the time Rob finally dropped the "L" bomb, she was none too happy, but did forgive him when he finally said it!

Christmas break came and Rob decided to let Sharon enjoy her family (meaning not call her, for like 2 weeks) which made Sharon's family A) convinced that Sharon was lying about such said "boyfriend" and B) convinced that if such said "boyfriend" existed he was breaking up with her. Turns out neither was true, but not before Sharon was convinced it was over by the time he did call and then come back to see her. When he did come back from Las Vegas, he came and picked her up, took her to the river in Idaho Falls to walk around, and kissed her----good and hard! Ahhhhh....the romance continues.

They continued dating and everyone kept asking what was taking him so long (we were in Rexburg at BYU-Idaho where the average romance is like 4 weeks long) to propose. Sharon told Rob that A) he needed to ask her parents and B) she had to meet his first. So, when Sharon went to Nauvoo for a week he went and had "the talk" with her parents unbeknownst to her and when she returned they went to Las Vegas for Spring Break. When they returned, she knew that "it" was getting close, so she told her dad to be nice when he came for "the talk". He played along and lied to his youngest daughter....shameful...and told her that he would do his best!

Rob then told Sharon he was taking her on a date....and Sharon's roommates were EXTREMELY concerned about Sharon's outfit----making her try on like 50 and wearing someone else's outfit and just creating drama. Sharon didn't know what the big deal was because she KNEW (or thought she did because that is what Rob told her....shameful) that Rob hadn't talked to her dad yet, nor bought the RING.

Anyway, he had dinner set up for her in a classroom on campus, played her the cutest song ever----Question by the Old 97's----took her for a long walk, proposed with a huge fake ring, and then the real one......she of course said yes and the rest is history.

He had proposed in April of 05......5 EXCRUCIATINGLY long months later they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple for Time and All Eternity.

2 miscarriages, 2 kidney stone attacks, 3 apartments, 2 graduations, 1 gallbladder surgery, 1 graduate school, 1 baby, and three years later....here they are, still as happy and in love as they were back then.

First of all, if you are still reading this long post------wowzers. Secondly, why do I tell you this story now? Because, it was 4 years ago that all this started.....and I was awake at 3 in the morning with the goober and I thought this would be a fun way to pass the hour in the middle of the night!
