Moving......Yippee!

So, we are moving! It will be great when it is over--but the next three days are going to be rough ones! Especially for my dear, sweet, husband Rob who won't let me lift anything, bend over, use any chemicals, etc. So, since all of those are things you would need to do when moving that pretty much makes me useless! I can wipe down things with Lysol wipes, and that is pretty much where my usefulness ends.
Anyway, we are just moving up the street so we can get into a 2-bedroom apartment so all 3 of us still love each other when Rob is done with school. I am very glad to be able to have a little more space and hope to have the place well organized! Organizing is one of my favorite activities, but being pregnant and not having a ton of space, make it difficult to keep up with.
Rob has been very efficient in packing---very efficient. Almost a little too efficient--but I appreciate all of the hard work he has done!

I had book club on Tuesday. We read Summerhouse and I loved it. It made you think. In the book the women all get to go back to any point in their lives and re-live 3 weeks of their life. Then, they get to choose whether to stick with the new life or the old life. They also get to decide whether they would want to remember the switch or not. It was very interesting. It definitely made you think. At book club we went around the circle and talked about what time we would all go back to. It was interesting. In the book, a lot of them going back was about the men in their lives and changing their love interests etc. It also made me want to appreciate each day more because you don't get to go back and relive any time in your life.
Anyway, I would definitely recommend the book to anyone!

I tried to paint my toe nails yesterday. It didn't work out so great. I told Rob I was going to figure out how to do it because I really wanted to paint my toenails. He told me I can't until Lily comes out or I will squish her! He is a guy so he can't empathize very well. I really just wanted to paint my toenails! I will be grateful when I can reach them again!

The Doctor's Office

So, if you get sick of talking to me about my pregnancy--I sincerely apologize! However, it is the most exciting thing I have to talk about and I think of my blog as a Journal of Sorts--so, there you go.

We went to the doctor yesterday--gained more weight! Shocker!
They did a 3-D Ultrasound--see pics below. It was very fun to actually see her and it actually looks like a baby. She had her foot in her eye most of the time, so we couldn't get a great shot of her face. The tech was laughing at her foot and her big round big toe. It is quite cute.
She is ahead of schedule---she is weighing more than she should at this point. So, she is healthy and well-fed to quote my doctor.
Since, she is healthy and well fed and if she continues on this path, she could be 9 pounds by my due date, my doctor said he would like to start me early! Yippee skippee! He said he would try to keep her in the 7 pound range. So, he tentatively changed my date to be started to August 17, so that is very exciting. That is less than 2 months away! Needless to say, this announcement brought me great happiness and joy. Rob isn't as thrilled as this falls into his week of finals at school. I also was thrilled that he would try and prevent me from having a BIG baby come out of me---also a sense of great happiness and joy!
That is my exciting news of the day.

In less thrilling pregnancy news, I was standing around talking to 4 of my women co-workers and they all started freaking out about how big my right ankle/cankle was. My right leg swells more than my left--Why that is? I do not know. Anyway, you gotta love people freaking out about stuff like that! It just makes me even more self-aware of how big my cankles look!

Some People's Children

The title to this post is inspired by my beloved brother Doug (whom I like to refer to as DOOOG-LAS) who would always say that about stupid people, and I had an interaction with one of those such people today.

Just some background on this e-mail. I handle all of the travel for the College of Nursing at ASU. So, I deal with a lot of trips and such.
Anyway, here is an e-mail I received today.

"I received a letter from the Travel Office about my trip." End of e-mail.

Only sarcastic comments came to mind--

How nice of them to think of you.
It is always nice to get mail.
I had Cheerios for breakfast as long as we are sharing random tidbits about our day.


I had to wait an hour before I responded and even then it still came off sounding like "And your point is...."

Good Pregnant Reactions

Here are some fun reactions I have gotten lately--

• Our friends here in AZ had a baby last fall. We hadn't seen them in a while and I went to Jada (that is her name) and said, "Wow! You have gotten so big." Her tactful father turned to me and said "Wow! You too!"
  
• Same guy as above was driving by me as I was walking out of church and he asked me "Where'd you learn to waddle like that?
• The MOST POPULAR by FAR!
• "When are you due?
• "End of August."
• "Oh, you have to go all the way through the summer! Living in Phoenix! You poor thing!" (Then they give me a look of pity!) Rob's favorite reaction to this is to say we planned it like this because I wanted to be as miserable as humanly possible.
  

Happy Birthday to My Husband

Today was my Husband's 28th Birthday and his first official Father's Day!
I made him crepes with fresh berries for breakfast. I also made lasagna, breadsticks, and salad for dinner. Alright, the lasagna and breadsticks might have come pre-made a tad bit, but I still worked hard making dinner for him!
I got him a willowtree statue of the new dad for Father's Day. I got him a really great present for his birthday that I hope comes in the mail today!
Here are some little known facts about my husband--

• He loves watching sports--when he really gets into a game he gets closer and closer to the TV. I know it is intense by the distance (or lack thereof) he is from the television!
• He likes talking to Lily. He always makes me lay down on the bed and then he sits and talks to her and tries to figure out how she is positioned in there. It is cute.
  
• He loves chips and salsa--by the truckload. We buy the big bags and big containers of Salsa from Costco!
  
• He is a tickler---I hope some of that energy transfers to our children, so I don't have to take all of it!
• He leaves his towel on the floor--or on the bed--or on the chair--anywhere but the towel rack! I love you hon!
• He is such a hard worker--he has done so well in school! He is usually in the top of his class. He has worked really hard going to school. I am very proud of him.
  

He is a great husband and is definitely going to be a great Dad! Happy Birthday and Happy Father's Day!

It is Friday!!!

It is Friday! Hooray! I have to work from 6am to 4:30 today, but at least it is Friday!
We are going with some of our friends to the California Pizza Kitchen for dinner tonight. I am very excited about that. I get easily excited and amused by food these days--Sad, I know. Last night I was talking to my sister while she was ordering at Arby's and it made me really hungry. By the time I got home I was starving! Luckily, my great husband sensed this in my voice, and had dinner ready for me when I walked in the door!

Here are 2 pictures I stole from my sister Kaylynn's blog. This is my newest niece Carly at her blessing 2 weeks ago while we were in Utah. She is very adorable. It was a whole new experience holding a new baby girl when I knew it was going to be my turn next! Her blessing was such an amazing experience. My whole family was there and the Spirit was just so strong. Having all of the men get up there to bless her was an amazing experience and it just made me so grateful for the priesthood and what a great blessing it is.

My friend Lara just had her second baby yesterday! I can't believe my friends are starting to have 2 kids! Craziness.

Young Women and Life

It is hot--tomorrow is supposed to be 107. I didn't really sleep last night because I was just so hot, but I have a hard time sleeping without any covering. Annoying!
I taught Young Women yesterday--and I didn't know until 5 minutes before church (which is now at 2:00pm--TORTURE!) that I was going to have to teach ALL the Young Women, not just my Miamaids, since the other teachers bailed. I had made cupcakes and only had 17 and there were 19 girls--so we had a lot of leftover cupcakes because I couldn't not ask 2 girls to not have a cupcake!
My lesson was on Temple Marriage. I actually felt pretty good about what I had prepared. I had asked some of the other leaders and my sisters their thoughts on temple marriage and it helped me focus my thoughts a lot. I read some of their thoughts to the girls and I thought it was pretty powerful. I then gave them all a piece of paper and asked them to promise themselves right then and there that they were going to get married in the temple. I thought it went pretty good and I felt pretty good about it. It is kind of hard to teach Laurels and Beehives about Temple Marriage at the same time--since their perspectives on that topic are pretty different!
I had also asked Rob to give me a blessing yesterday because I have just been struggling with life. I have just been worrying and not really enjoying anything--just worrying. Anyway, the blessing really helped me out and just emphasized All is Well. It made a huge difference to me as I have just been feeling overwhelmed and run down!
My birthday this week was good. I worked all day and then Rob took me to Pei Wei for dinner. It was delicious. Then he got me an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen--delicious! He got me a new Nicholas Sparks book and the movie Enchanted. My mom took me to get a pedicure while I was home for my birthday too! Happy Birthday to me!
In YW they have the parents (in my case, my husband) write letters to the girls on their birthdays. They read Rob's letter yesterday. He said something about me getting older and older--so I guess 23 is just older and older!!! He also talked about Lily which the girls all thought was so cute!!!
I get to go have a 3-D Ultrasound next week, which I am very excited about. Rob can't go because he has class and they couldn't find us a time when he wouldn't have class.
